Professor Mohammad Hossein Sarrafzadeh is a Biochemical Engineer with over two decades of experience in both fermentation engineering and molecular biology across various laboratories. His research focus lies in cell viability, where he has developed several techniques for online biomass monitoring based on permittivity in spore-forming bacteria, RGB in microalgae culture, and respirometry techniques in mixed cultures such as activated sludge in biological water and wastewater treatment.
Contributions in Environmental Biotech
Additionally, he has developed innovative treatment technologies in environmental biotechnology and for industrial and municipal wastewater, including membrane bioreactors (MBRs), reverse osmosis systems, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), photocatalytic materials, industrial pollution control, and resource recovery.
